Two local Chambers have been recognised in the recent Far South Coast Business Awards. The awards are run by Business NSW and recognise growth, entrepreneurship and celebrates business success from across Eurobodalla, Bega Valley and the Southern Tablelands
Both Merimbula Chamber of Commerce and Bega Chamber of Commerce were finalists and were pipped at the post by Goulburn Chamber in the
Outstanding Local Chamber category which recognises the achievements of a Local Chamber of Commerce in supporting its members to maximise their business potential.
Merimbula Chamber President Nigel Ayling said, “We are delighted and honoured to be recognised for the work that we have done. Our committee is made up of volunteers who all run their own businesses, but they still give up their time to work for the betterment of our business community. We all put in a lot of work and it’s not always noticed, so we are very chuffed to receive this recognition from our peers.”
Bega Chamber President John Watkin also said that he was very happy with the result. “This is the second year in a row that we have been a finalist and its testament to the hard work of the executive committee. We try hard to support our Business community and this is nice recognition of that work. For the second year in a row Goulburn has won but when you look at their website and all their activities they are worthy winners so congratulations to them.”
